Yewande Adeniran is Championing Marginalised Voices & Dark Club Sounds
A multidisciplinary artist, writer, mentor, academic, DJ, and label owner – Yewande Adeniran's list of titles is extensive, yet always carries an important focal point – forging a club culture that is a haven for everyone. Adeniran leads their mission via INTERVENTION, the DJ and production workshop that offers a welcoming space for FLINTA and marginalized people to come together and celebrate all things dance. While already out there advocating for nightlife, you may also find them behind the decks with an alias, Ifeoluwa, fusing global drum-heavy sounds, the darker side of UK club music, and abstract left-field techno mixes, supporting the likes of Objekt, mumdance, LSDXOXO, Helena Hauff and many others.
Since first becoming an active figure in electronic music, Ifeoluwa has always used their position of influence to push the boundaries of the underground community by uplifting and amplifying marginalized individuals. As a selector, their choice of sound works much to the same progressive mindset, forever testing the limits of a dancefloor through twisted electronics and club styles pulled from across the globe. And as if that is not enough, they have launched their imprint ipaadi records and a compilation with INTERVENTION, with tracks from Loraine James, Lee Gamble, Kouslin, and I. Jordan.
